Social Ministry

Our Social Commitment

A life in the following of the Lord nourishes our charity and enables us to take care of the Divine image in the faces of our brothers and sisters. We are conscious of the struggles of the people and we commit ourselves for the betterment of the society in different parts of India. We take care of the needy especially the children, youth, women and elderly; those who are less privileged, neglected and isolated, as our founders and first sisters did.

Our two communities in Karnataka, three communities in Gujarat, communities in Maharashtra, Assam and Meghalaya are engaged ministry which enhance the social development and act as catalysts for social change by intervening in the lives of the poor people. We are engaged in women empowerment programmes through Self Help Groups (SHGs), awareness classes, training programmes, counseling etc. Many children in the villages are supported through, sponsorship programmes, girls’ home, tuition classes, vacation camps, balamandal groups etc. Skill development and tailoring classes are conducted for young women. A day care for lone elderly and home based palliative care for the sick people and regular medical camps for the village people are also being carried out.

We collaborate with Dioceses and other agencies of social commitment. Jesus, who was very empathetic and kind for the suffering humanity and the great social reformer, guides us always!
